Description
Union County is seeking a Georgia-licensed contractor to replace the Spiva Cove Bridge and repair the Kiutuestia Creek Road culvert at Lows Mill Road. The work includes demolition and removal of the existing bridge, construction of an approximately 80-foot by 14-foot bridge with concrete abutments and wingwalls, roadway base and asphalt work, riprap scour protection, erosion and sediment controls, traffic control, mobilization, and related labor, materials, equipment, and services. The culvert repair includes clearing and grubbing, wingwall stabilization and repair, compaction grouting as needed, flume installation, riprap scour protection, flowable fill or lean concrete, mobilization, and traffic control. Proposals must include a transmittal letter, completed pricing proposal, qualifications information, evidence of insurance, the bidder's certification, E-Verify/SAVE affidavit, any signed addenda, and a current contractor's license. Qualifications information is limited to 20 pages and must address company background, financial stability, key personnel, relevant public-entity work from the past five years, applicable manufacturer installer certificates, certified reseller status where applicable, and a logistics plan. The qualifications and pricing proposals must be separately sealed; the pricing proposal must not be included in the qualifications package. A 5% bid bond is required, while 100% performance and payment bonds are required only from the awarded contractor. The contract provides for substantial completion within 150 days after the Notice to Proceed and final completion within 30 days thereafter.
