Description
Fisheries and Oceans Canada is soliciting competitive bids for Phase 1 repairs to approximately 100 metres of the North Rustico Harbour Public Wharf, Structures 403, 404, and 408. The work includes removing existing timber sheathing and curb components; installing wood fender piles, timber wales, splice blocks, sheathing, wheel guards, transition decking, ladders, galvanized hardware, and related metal fabrications; and disposing of removed materials. The owner will supply major timber components, including the wood fender piles and several treated timber elements. The contractor must provide the labour, equipment, installation, pile-driving operations, temporary facilities, safety measures, environmental protection, waste management, and project coordination required for completion. Requirements include site-specific health and safety, environmental, erosion and sediment control, emergency response, hot-work, lockout, and construction procedures. Phase 1 must be completed by March 31, 2027; Phase 2 is an optional owner-authorized extension using the Phase 1 pricing basis. The bid requires a 10 percent bid security, and the successful contractor must provide contract security and specified insurance coverage.
