Description
The City of San Diego Public Utilities Department is seeking one contractor to provide a broad range of trenching and shoring equipment on an as-needed rental basis. Required equipment includes hydraulic speed shoring forms and aluminum hydraulic shoring, steel and aluminum trench boxes, manhole boxes, hanger plates, H-beams, shoring pumps, trench bridges, guard rail systems, safety accessories, steel and anti-skid crossing plates, rumble plates, and related equipment. Bidders must provide daily, weekly, and monthly rates for every item in the City's pricing schedule; incomplete pricing may be deemed non-responsive. The contractor must maintain the listed equipment in San Diego County, deliver it anywhere within San Diego city limits, respond verbally to equipment requests within one hour, deliver within three hours of a request, and arrange pickup within 24 hours. The contract also includes professional engineering services when required for shoring or protective-system designs, including designs stamped and signed by a California-registered professional engineer and a licensed civil or structural engineer on staff. The contract term is five years with no renewal options. Required bid materials include the signed ITB signature page, Contractor Standards Pledge of Compliance, Equal Opportunity Contracting forms, manufacturer's price list, the completed City pricing schedule, and additional information required by the scope of work.
