Description
This opportunity from the Department of Health and Human Services focuses on advancing novel recording and modulation technologies for the human central nervous system (CNS). The goal is to facilitate the translation of these technologies from proof of concept to readiness for first-in-human studies. These technologies aim to aid in the treatment and diagnosis of CNS diseases and disorders, as well as enhance the understanding of the human CNS. Diverse team-based applications integrating various domains of expertise are encouraged. Technologies may utilize any signal modality, including electrical, optical, magnetic, or acoustic, or a combination thereof. Eligibility is broad, including various serving institutions, federal agencies, faith-based or community-based organizations, and for-profit organizations. However, non-domestic (non-U.S.) entities are not eligible to apply, though foreign components of U.S. organizations are permitted. The funding instrument is a grant, with a maximum award ceiling of $750,000.
