Description
The City of North Myrtle Beach is soliciting competitive bids from contractors pre-qualified by the South Carolina Department of Transportation for the Resurfacing Improvements – Summer 2026 project. The scope includes resurfacing streets throughout the city; asphalt milling, paving, leveling, removal, and repairs; manhole and valve-box adjustments; traffic control; pavement markings; concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk, and pedestrian-ramp work; erosion control; seeding and sodding; and related work on 30th Avenue South in Atlantic Beach. The bid schedule includes approximately 68,951 square yards of full-depth asphalt milling, 15,982 tons of SCDOT Type C asphalt surface course, and additional roadway, drainage, traffic, and concrete improvements. The base bid must be completed within 120 consecutive calendar days after the Notice to Proceed, with liquidated damages of $500 per calendar day for late completion. The prime contractor must perform at least 50% of the work with its own forces. A 5% bid security is required, and the successful bidder must provide 100% performance and payment bonds. Insurance requirements include workers’ compensation, $1,000,000 employers’ liability, $1,000,000 general liability, $1,000,000 property damage, $1,000,000 automobile liability, and $1,000,000 excess or umbrella liability. The solicitation requires submission of the complete bid package through BidNet Direct; mailed, faxed, and emailed bids are not accepted.
