Description
The City of Florence is soliciting sealed bids for the replacement of forty 1.5-inch and thirty-four 2-inch existing water meters throughout its water franchise area. The scope includes removal and replacement of meters, installation of AMI communication components, replacement of meter box lids and related appurtenances, integration with the City's meter data management system, testing and commissioning, customer service coordination, restoration of disturbed surfaces, and all labor, equipment, fuel, supervision, and incidental work needed for a complete operational system. The City will provide the new meters, lids, and boxes; bidders should include applicable South Carolina sales tax in their pricing. The base bid covers the forty 1.5-inch meters, and the thirty-four 2-inch meters are an alternate bid. Bidders must hold a valid South Carolina utility contractor's license. The contractor must begin within 45 calendar days after notice to proceed and complete the work within 270 business days. Award will be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, considering price, company experience, and quality of service. The solicitation requires comprehensive general liability, vehicle liability, workers' compensation, and employer's liability insurance, generally with $1,000,000 limits, and requires the City to be named as an additional insured where specified.
