Description
The Department of the Air Force is soliciting white papers for the Endless Forge (EF) program, which aims to establish a Manufacturing as a Service (MaaS) capability that is adaptive, surge-adaptive, resilient, and scalable. EF represents a new manufacturing paradigm focused on regionalized production networks to enable the Air Force to scale any weapon system at speed. The program is structured into two Areas of Interest (AOI): AOI 01 focuses on 'EF Technology Sprints' to operationalize a digital thread for battlefield responsiveness, addressing challenges such as model-based quality assurance, modular integration, IntelDevOps, software-defined manufacturing, and secure data exchange. AOI 02 focuses on 'Technology Demonstration' to showcase the overarching EF concept across various domains including attrition-tolerant mass systems, autonomous collaborative platforms, space systems, and high-speed weapons. The solicitation encourages participation from new industry entrants and small businesses offering novel technologies. Some aspects of AOI 02 may require up to a TOP SECRET facility security clearance and TOP SECRET safeguarding capability.
