Description
Battelle Energy Alliance LLC, the management and operating contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy's Idaho National Laboratory, is seeking expressions of interest from qualified recyclers to support a research project on battery-containing electronic waste. The anticipated work includes organizing six to nine residential e-waste collection events in eligible nonregulated states, with each participating organization conducting at least two to three events before September 2027. Respondents must be able to document existing residential collection activities and related seasonal, geographic, and material trends; arrange multichannel advertising and public outreach; provide participant and collected-material data by e-waste type; identify downstream transporters, receivers, recyclers, or processors; describe relevant recycler or processor qualifications such as R2 or e-Stewards certifications; and address potential partnerships with local nonprofits or governmental authorities. The response is an expression of interest for a possible future Request for Proposal, not a current contract award.
