The Division of Earth Sciences (EAR) is offering postdoctoral fellowships to recent doctoral degree recipients. These fellowships are intended to support an integrated program of independent research and professional development within the scope of EAR's disciplinary portfolio. The program aims to recognize promising early-career investigators by providing them with research experience, mentorship, and training to establish them in leadership roles within the Earth Sciences community. Fellows are encouraged to pursue research that diversifies their expertise and broadens their professional networks, ideally outside their doctoral institution or current organization. The fellowship includes participation in a professional development program focused on mentoring skills. Eligibility is restricted to U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents who expect to have earned their doctoral degree by the fellowship start date. Individuals must not have exceeded 24 months of full-time-equivalent work in a post-doctoral position by the deadline. Proposals can be submitted by U.S.-based for-profit organizations, non-profit non-academic organizations, and institutions of higher education. Federally funded research and development centers (FFRDCs) and foreign organizations are ineligible as primary host institutions.
