Description
The United Nations Development Programme's Bangladesh Country Office is seeking an individual consultant to lead social and environmental safeguard work across four projects. The assignment includes reviewing and validating screening procedures; preparing Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs), and Environmental and Social Management Frameworks (ESMFs); conducting baseline and impact analyses; and developing mitigation, monitoring, capacity-building, and institutional arrangements. The consultant will also conduct gender analyses, stakeholder consultations, disclosure activities, and grievance redress mechanisms, and may prepare up to two specialized standalone plans such as Indigenous Peoples Plans, Livelihood Action Plans, or Biodiversity Action Plans. The work includes an inception report and final deliverables for each project, with a maximum of 100 working days over five months. The engagement is home-based with field travel and is paid on an output-based, lump-sum basis. Required qualifications include a relevant master's degree or higher, at least 10 years of relevant experience, and documented experience with at least five completed ESIA, ESMP, or ESMF assignments.
