Description
The Department of Defense, through the Defense Health Agency Contracting Activity, is soliciting grant applications for the Fiscal Year 2026 Autism Research Program (ARP) Career Development Award. This program aims to support early-career, independent investigators and/or established investigators transitioning into autism research. The goal is to foster innovative, high-impact ideas or early-phase, proof-of-principle clinical trials that have the potential to significantly advance the understanding and treatment of autism. Applications are strongly encouraged to align with the FY26 ARP Career Development Award Areas of Interest or provide justification for addressing a critical need in autism research. For submissions including a pilot clinical trial component, community collaborations are required to optimize research impact. Applicants are expected to name at least one community partner, such as an autistic individual, caregiver, or community-based organization representative, to provide advice and consultation throughout the research project. The program expects to fund approximately two awards with a total program funding of $1.5 million, with a maximum cost cap of $750,000 per award and a maximum period of performance of 3 years. The funding instrument for these awards will be grants.
