Description
Los Alamos County is requesting proposals from qualified and experienced firms to operate a bookstore for the sale and disposition of surplus and donated materials associated with the Los Alamos County Mesa Public Library System. The scope includes reviewing, sorting, and assessing books, DVDs, audiobooks, kits, artwork, cases, packaging, and other library materials for resale, recycling, donation, or disposal; operating public bookstore hours; managing rare or potentially valuable items through online sales; and making low-value items available to the public when appropriate. The selected contractor must operate at no cost to the Library other than the provision of physical space, maintain a professional and safe onsite environment, comply with applicable disposal and recycling regulations, provide quarterly financial reports, and make annual donations to the Library based on net sale proceeds. The contract may run for up to seven years. Proposals must address qualifications and experience, applicable laws and regulations, the proposed service approach, and any exceptions to the County's sample services agreement.
