Description
The City of Columbus Department of Recreation and Parks is soliciting construction bids for a new irrigation pond at Raymond Memorial Golf Course. The work includes demolition and removal of existing irrigation lines, asphalt path sections, trees, and a steel tank; excavation and construction of a wet pond with a compacted clay liner, shoreline protection, emergency overflow, drainage line, endwall, irrigation pump structure, irrigation mains and laterals, valves, sprinkler heads, and related controls; electrical service and distribution equipment; erosion and sediment controls; grading, paving, seeding, restoration, and site cleanup. Addendum No. 1 revises plans and specifications, adds boring logs, updates the bid tab, and introduces alternates for hauling spoils, tank removal, and additional electrical work for new wells. The addendum also reduces certain electrical work from the base scope and clarifies that irrigation control wiring is by the owner. The estimated contract value exceeds $500,000 but does not exceed $2,000,000. Bidders must be prequalified responsible or provisionally responsible by the bid due date, use prevailing wage rates for Franklin County, and comply with applicable City specifications, permits, tree-protection requirements, environmental controls, and project-management requirements. A bid bond equal to at least 10 percent of the total bid is required. The successful bidder must provide performance and payment bonds when applicable, required insurance, and other post-award documents. The contractor must perform at least 25 percent of the work itself; subcontracting is permitted subject to the solicitation requirements.
