Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is conducting an Industry Day to obtain contractor feedback on a planned firm-fixed-price, design-build project at the Transportation Security Laboratory. The future project is expected to include approximately 40,000 square feet of Detection Sciences Testing and Applied Research Center laboratory space, an approximately 6,000-square-foot Facility for Energetic Materials Research, and related parking, roads, utilities, and site improvements. The anticipated construction magnitude is $25 million to $75 million, with an estimated duration of 1,095 calendar days. The planned facilities include laboratories, offices, conference and control rooms, chemical and hazardous-waste storage, classified areas capable of handling information up to TS/SCI, blast-hardened spaces, loading docks, integrated fire, security, mechanical, building-control, and information-technology systems, specialized HVAC and environmental controls, and enhanced commissioning. The Industry Day will address construction risks, laboratory HVAC and commissioning, specialized equipment, cleared personnel, subcontracting, small-business participation, and compliance with security and federal construction requirements. This is a planning and market-research event, not a solicitation, and will not result in a contract award.
