Description
Prince William County is soliciting bids for construction of the North Woodbridge Pedestrian Bridge in Prince William County, Virginia. The project includes clearing and grubbing, grading and excavation, erosion and sediment controls, storm sewer and drainage structures, water-main relocation, fencing, curb and gutter, concrete sidewalks, asphalt paving, traffic maintenance, lighting-related relocations, and other roadway improvements. The principal structure will be a prefabricated steel truss pedestrian bridge with switchback ramps. The contractor must design, furnish, fabricate, deliver, and erect the bridge trusses, ramp trusses, support towers, support frames, bearing assemblies, decks, landings, drainage, pedestrian fencing, and related components through a qualified bridge manufacturer meeting the specified AISC Advanced Bridge Fabricator certification and fracture-critical requirements. The contractor is also responsible for structural engineering, shop and working drawings, quality control, vibration and adjacent-utility monitoring, a 730-calendar-day completion period, and complete bridge maintenance for one year after VDOT acceptance. The project is federally funded and subject to Buy America, prevailing-wage, and applicable DBE requirements; the stated DBE goal is 0 percent.
