Description
The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is soliciting proposals for a professional services consultant to act as their representative in Asia. The primary focus will be on recruiting foreign direct investment from Asian firms in the automotive, aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing sectors, as well as promoting the export of Mississippi products to Asian markets. The consultant will be responsible for developing knowledge of Mississippi's assets, creating recruitment and export promotion plans, and engaging in activities such as business missions, calling programs, seminars, and exhibitions. The scope of services includes developing and executing investment recruitment and trade promotion plans. This involves proactive outreach to Asian companies, identifying potential investors, assisting with investment missions, providing investment leads, and attending relevant industry events. The consultant will also promote Mississippi businesses for export, coordinate trade promotion events, and provide market intelligence. The consultant will be required to provide monthly and annual activity and financial reports, and visit Mississippi annually for briefings and participation in MDA functions. The contract will be for an initial term of two years, with the option to renew for up to thirty-six additional months.
