The California Regional Water Quality Control Board, San Francisco Bay Region 2, is seeking a contractor to construct a new portion of the Bay Trail at Oyster Point in South San Francisco. The project involves building an 8-foot-wide concrete pathway adjacent to and further out of the high tide line than the existing trail, which currently floods during high tides. The existing trail will be closed during construction, and an existing connection to the parking lot will be filled and raised to the grade of the new trail. The existing trail will be left in place, with a small portion replaced in-kind to connect to the new alignment. Following construction, vegetation will be planted to mitigate for flooding and project impacts. The project is classified as a Notice of Exemption under Class 1, section 15301: Existing Facilities, as it involves an addition to an existing structure that will not result in an increase of more than 2,500 square feet.
