Description
Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation seeks modeling and research services to identify fish species and size targets for protection from entrainment at the CBRH and WH diversions. The work will adapt existing Rainbow Trout population, cumulative-effects, and entrainment models to assess multiple protection scenarios, and develop cumulative-effects models for Brown Trout and Mountain Whitefish. The contractor will evaluate whether existing modeling approaches are suitable and, if approved, develop CEMPRA models. The work also includes assessing how reduced entrainment at the CBRH diversion could affect the size and structure of Bow River sport-fish populations, and developing targets to support provincial fisheries and water-management planning. The estimated contract period is 16 months, with a proposed start date of November 16, 2026.
