This initiative seeks to enhance Europe's resilience to climate-related disasters by developing advanced climate security scenarios, tools, and collaborative frameworks. The program aims to improve risk forecasting, crisis management, and climate adaptation across various sectors including agriculture, health, transport, energy, finance, biodiversity, and population displacement. It emphasizes integrated approaches that combine risk assessment, crisis response, and long-term adaptation planning, with a focus on improving methodologies and technologies for early detection, emergency response, and disaster mitigation. Special attention will be given to cascading and compounding risks, as well as the protection of vulnerable groups. The initiative promotes the integration of advanced data sources and digital infrastructures, such as the Copernicus Programme and Galileo, and encourages the use of research infrastructures like Destination Earth and the European Open Science Cloud. Strong emphasis is placed on international collaboration, knowledge exchange, and alignment with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. Projects are expected to strengthen Europe's capacity for climate risk management by developing validated tools and operational solutions for real-world application, ensuring better preparedness and more effective recovery after disasters. Cooperation between public authorities, researchers, industry, and other stakeholders is encouraged to accelerate the deployment of innovative climate security solutions.
