Description
The United Nations Development Programme is seeking a national individual consultant to support participatory waste management planning for K. Maafushi, K. Himmafushi, and K. Guraidhoo in the Maldives. The assignment includes developing a planning methodology and waste-audit framework; conducting joint waste audits and baseline assessments; facilitating stakeholder co-creation and validation workshops; and preparing three island-specific Waste Management Plans aligned with the prescribed national template. The consultant will also identify infrastructure, equipment, operational, financing, accessibility, and worker-safety needs; clarify institutional responsibilities; develop implementation and monitoring arrangements; and finalize the three plans with a concise consultancy report. The engagement is for 120 working days from 2026-10-20 through 2027-05-31, with travel to the three selected islands. Applicants must submit a technical proposal, signed offeror's letter with detailed financial breakdown, CV with at least three references, relevant educational certificates, methodology/work plan, portfolio materials, and at least one technical document authored in Dhivehi.
