Description
Hennepin County is soliciting rebids for rehabilitation of the Hennepin Avenue Suspension Bridge over the Mississippi River. Work includes roadway milling and overlay; bridge deck, concrete, masonry, and structural repairs; cable band bolt inspection and retensioning; main-cable re-wrapping and sealing; bearing and expansion-joint replacement; drainage modifications; tower window reglazing; painting; lighting and traffic-sign work; and temporary access, traffic control, pedestrian routing, safety, environmental, and regulated-waste management. The project also includes bridge work on Bridge No. 27538. Bids must be submitted electronically through ProcureWare by the deadline. The bid package requires a 5% bid bond and, if awarded, payment and performance bonds each equal to the contract amount. The contractor must meet the 10% Small Minority Business Enterprise and 10% Small Women Business Enterprise participation goals. Construction operations must begin April 14, 2027, or within eight calendar days after the notice of contract award, whichever is later; project acceptance is required before September 30, 2028.
