Description
This broad agency announcement is a competitive solicitation for research and development of technologies to meet the mission of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. DTRA is soliciting innovative proposals for technologies in the technology readiness level 3-7 range that will lead to new or improved technical solutions for countering and deterring WMD and other emerging threats. DTRA seeks proposals that will advance research, development, test, and evaluation priorities across five interrelated thrust areas: understand current and emerging WMD situations, threats, and capabilities; enable effective and integrated WMD deterrence; control, disable, and defeat current and emerging WMD threats; protect the force and mitigate crises from WMD; and enable cross-cutting capabilities. DTRA is interested in various processes involved in the development, manufacturing, and testing of energetic materials and tools for use in specialized defense applications. Performers who demonstrate capabilities in the following will be considered: general industry capabilities, specific development capabilities, specific prototyping capabilities, and specific manufacturing capabilities. This BAA is limited to projects that meet TRL definitions in the TRL range 1-7. Upon completion of proposed developmental efforts, solutions should strive to meet a TRL in the range 3-7.
