This opportunity, the Mentored Quantitative Research Career Development Award (K25), is designed to attract investigators with quantitative and engineering backgrounds to conduct research relevant to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The award provides supervised study and research time for professionals with expertise in areas such as mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, imaging science, informatics, physics, and chemistry, enabling them to integrate their skills with health and disease-related research. This specific Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is intended for applicants who do not plan to lead an independent clinical trial, a clinical trial feasibility study, or an ancillary clinical trial. However, applicants may propose research experience within a clinical trial led by a mentor or co-mentor. Applicants who intend to lead a clinical trial or an ancillary clinical trial should refer to the companion FOA. Eligibility is broad, including various institutions of higher education, small businesses, non-profit organizations, tribal governments, and other eligible entities. Foreign components are permitted, but non-domestic components of U.S. organizations and foreign organizations are not eligible to apply.
