Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to procure a single, firm-fixed-price contract for replacement of aging domestic water, chilled water, and steam piping in Buildings 1 and 23 at the Durham VA Health Care System. The contractor must provide supervision, materials, labor, equipment, transportation, testing, storage, phasing coordination, and all work required by the drawings and specifications. Work will occur in an occupied healthcare facility operating 24 hours per day and must include appropriate personal protective equipment, infection-control measures, and coordination to minimize disruption. The estimated construction magnitude is $10 million to $20 million. The project is designated as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business set-aside, and completion is required within 603 calendar days after the notice to proceed, including procurement of long-lead items. The notice is a presolicitation; solicitation materials are expected to be available on or about October 15, 2026, with bids expected approximately 30 days after issuance.
