Description
Red River College Polytechnic seeks an engineering consultant to assess technical, economic, environmental, and operational options for decarbonizing the Notre Dame Campus district energy system. The study will consider the existing building portfolio and planned campus growth, with a target of approximately 120,000 square feet of additional floor area over the next 5–10 years. RRC Polytech will provide available building drawings, a 2022 ASHRAE Level II Energy Audit Report, utility and energy data, and records for existing geothermal systems; data availability varies, and some historical records are incomplete. The consultant will screen and evaluate pathways including steam-to-hot-water conversion, heat recovery, air- and ground-source heat pumps, hybrid systems, and other electrification approaches. Work includes energy modelling, conceptual designs, lifecycle financial analysis, and risk assessment, culminating in a feasibility report with a recommended pathway and investment-decision framework. Building-level demand reduction should be considered at a high level where relevant; detailed building audits are not expected. Ground-source options require a geotechnical or hydrogeological specialist, and the proposal should identify any pre-existing proprietary tools or models incorporated into deliverables.
