Description
The Assumption Parish Police Jury is requesting qualifications from firms to provide professional engineering and planning services for Phase I of the Amelia Levee-Bayou Boeuf Project (TE-0192). The work will develop a technically defensible regional flood-risk-reduction strategy for the Lake Verret Basin, Bayou Boeuf, and Bayou Chene areas, evaluating hurricane storm surge, riverine flooding, rainfall-driven drainage, and backwater flooding. The consultant must develop and assess a reasonable range of alternatives, including structural, conveyance, pumping, operational, and alignment concepts, without presuming a predetermined levee alignment, pump-station location, closure structure, federal authority, or funding outcome. The scope also includes evaluating drainage impacts from closures or restricted conveyance, developing a science-supported implementation roadmap, and assisting with coordination toward potential future federal participation. Engineering license verification is required before specifications are distributed.
