Description
The United Nations Development Programme seeks an individual consultant to develop and advance a pipeline of climate and environmental finance opportunities in South Africa. The assignment covers an Africa Resource Efficiency and Circularity Acceleration Programme child project, a GEF-9 methane-mitigation project for food and organic waste, a GEF-9 sustainable cities and circular-economy concept, and a Green Cooling Finance Facility concept. The consultant will conduct technical and policy analyses, stakeholder consultations, financing and co-financing assessments, and prepare investment-ready concepts, proposals, reports, presentations, and briefing materials. Required qualifications include an advanced university degree or equivalent relevant experience, at least 10 years of relevant professional experience, demonstrated experience developing donor-funded project concepts, and excellent English. The solicitation requires a technical proposal, CV with at least three references, methodology, examples of original work, and an all-inclusive financial proposal with cost breakdown.
