Description
The United Nations Development Programme is seeking an individual consultant to support implementation of the GEF8 biodiversity financing program in Mali. The specialist will analyze public and private biodiversity expenditures, assess financing needs for biodiversity policies and plans, collect and analyze data from government entities and other stakeholders, and support development of a national biodiversity financing plan. The assignment includes policy and institutional analysis, expenditure and financing-needs assessments, financial-gap analysis, feasibility studies for financing mechanisms, stakeholder consultations and workshops, data tools and reporting, and contributions to project synthesis materials and policy-maker summaries. The engagement totals 173 working days, with deliverables scheduled over up to 12 months after contract signature. Applicants must have a relevant master's degree or higher, at least five years of relevant experience with a master's degree or seven years with a bachelor's degree, and at least one similar experience.
