The U.S. National Science Foundation's Integrative Programs Section (IPS) of the Directorate for Geosciences (GEO) is seeking proposals for oceanographic facilities and equipment support. This program aims to ensure the availability of appropriate oceanographic facilities for Federally funded investigators and educators, covering shared-use platforms in ocean, coastal, near-shore waters, and the Great Lakes. Awards will support the procurement, conversion, upgrade, enhancement, or operation of these facilities. The solicitation covers three main areas: Oceanographic Technical Services (Tech Services) for enhancing scientific productivity through quality assurance, scheduling, and logistical assistance; Oceanographic Instrumentation (OI) for acquiring shared-use instruments for data collection and analysis; and Shipboard Scientific Support Equipment (SSSE) for improving safety and scientific capabilities with permanent or portable equipment for research vessels. Proposals are accepted from non-profit, non-academic organizations and Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs). The estimated total program funding is $47,500,000, with an expected number of 50 awards. Individual awards are expected to range from $5,000 to $47,500,000.
