Description
The Department of the Air Force, through the Aerial Targets Program Office, is conducting market research to identify commercially available or near-term aerial target solutions that replicate adversary aircraft performance, signatures, and countermeasures. The effort is intended to support a family of systems spanning inexpensive hobby drones through advanced adversary fighters and large-scale aircraft for defensive and offensive counter-air testing and training missions. The notice is for information, market research, and acquisition planning only; it is not a request for proposals. Respondents are asked to provide industry capabilities, rough-order-of-magnitude information, and data relevant to commerciality, non-developmental item, and potential small-business determinations. The Government is interested in innovative approaches and solutions across the target spectrum, including systems capable of representing threat aircraft and supporting future acquisition strategies and budgetary planning. An industry day is planned at the UF Research and Engineering Education Facility, with attendance limited to five individuals per tier and separate one-on-one sessions available by appointment; the originally announced October 20–22 event was postponed, with rescheduling anticipated for November 30–December 4, 2026.
