Description
The Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh (URA) is requesting funding proposals for projects under the Pittsburgh Downtown Conversion Program (PDCP). This program aims to create new affordable housing in Downtown Pittsburgh by converting vacant and underutilized office spaces. Funding for PDCP originates from the American Rescue Plan, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the City of Pittsburgh, and the URA. The program prioritizes projects that maximize other public and private financing sources and those that commit to deeper affordability through the Housing Choice Voucher Program. PDCP seeks to make Downtown residential communities accessible to low-to-moderate income households, addressing both the lack of affordable housing and the reduction of underutilized office space. Projects must commit to long-term affordability, with an emphasis on units affordable to households at or below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI), and prioritizing leasing and hiring of Downtown workers earning 60% of AMI or lower.
