The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Energy (ARPA-E), an organization within the Department of Energy (DOE), is seeking transformative research and development projects that can significantly advance energy technologies. This initiative aims to enhance the economic and energy security of the United States by supporting innovations that reduce energy imports, decrease energy-related emissions, improve energy efficiency, manage radioactive waste, and enhance infrastructure resilience. ARPA-E focuses on funding transformational research that has the potential to create new learning curves and disruptive market impacts, rather than incremental improvements. Projects should demonstrate the potential for manufacturing at a competitive cost and deployment at scale. The agency supports applied research and development, encouraging applicants to explore new and emerging fields that may fall outside of ARPA-E's focused technology programs.
