The City of Vancouver intends to contract with Resilience Mapping Canada Ltd. for the development of Vancouver-specific social vulnerability mapping and data. This initiative aims to guide policy and program development for a project focused on planning for extreme heat risk reduction in homes. Resilience Mapping Canada Ltd. is considered uniquely qualified due to their familiarity with the dataset and background methodology for developing regional and city-level social vulnerability indexes. They have prior experience with similar work at the federal level and with other local jurisdictions. This project will build upon their previous work to create tailored social vulnerability mapping and data, enhancing the City's capacity for geospatial analysis related to extreme heat safety planning. The contract is expected to last approximately four months and is valued at approximately $25,000.00 CAD.
