Description
The United Nations Development Programme is soliciting bids for the rehabilitation and upgrading of the existing waste management facility at Balangoda Urban Council. The scope includes construction of a compost yard and access road, a wastewater treatment plant and micro-wetland, a sanitary landfilling area, and rehabilitation and capping of the existing dump yard. The work also includes civil, mechanical, electrical, and environmental activities; equipment supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and operator training; environmental and social management measures; occupational health and safety controls; traffic management; site fencing and drainage; and related quality assurance and reporting. The whole of the works must be completed within 26 weeks from contract award, with the compost building and access road completed by the end of the 15th week from mobilization. Bidders must demonstrate relevant civil-construction experience, qualifying wastewater-treatment and structural-building experience, financial capacity, and the ability to provide the required personnel, equipment, warranty, and technical support.
