The Leading by Example Clean Energy Grant Program is intended to provide financial support for specific state entity efforts to study the feasibility of technologies and strategies that will result in recommendations or analysis that ideally will lead to the implementation of projects that result in emissions reductions. Program funds will focus on studies that are linked to decarbonization efforts within state buildings and are intended to support state agency efforts to develop and install a range of clean energy technologies at state facilities and are intended to significantly reduce or eliminate onsite fossil fuel combustion, reduce energy use, and/or lower energy costs. Technologies may include renewable thermal, innovative solar PV, clean energy resilience, thermal and battery energy storage, anaerobic digestion, and other strategies to support state facility decarbonization.
