Pre-bid meeting to be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 10:00 am CST, at City Hall, on the 6th Floor in Training Rooms 624/625 at 305 Fountain Circle, Huntsville, AL 35801. NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS WANTED: Sealed bids in duplicate for the construction of: Intersection Improvements along Huntsville Northern Bypass and Memorial Parkway, more particularly known as Project No. 71-26-SP60. Description of Project: Intersection Improvements along Huntsville Northern Bypass (AL HWY 255) and Memorial Parkway (U.S. HWY 431/AL HWY 1) to include 2 new traffic signals, drainage improvements, turn lanes, electric and streetlights. The attention of all bidders is called to Code of Alabama §§ 34-8-1 and 34-8-2 (1975) and 34-8-1, 34-8-2, 34-8-4, 34-8- 6, 34-8-7, 34-8-8 and 34-8-9 (amended 1996) setting forth the definition of general contractor and the licensing procedures and requirements for state licensing. Description
The City of Huntsville is soliciting sealed bids for Project No. 71-26-SP60, involving intersection improvements along Huntsville Northern Bypass (Alabama Highway 255) and Memorial Parkway (U.S. Highway 431/Alabama Highway 1). The project includes installation of two new traffic signals, drainage improvements, turn lanes, electrical work, and streetlights. Bidders must hold an Alabama contractor license with either the Class HS (Highways & Streets) or MU (Municipal & Utility) classification. Bids must include pricing using the City's provided Attachment A quantities file, submitted on a working thumb or flash drive in Excel format along with two signed hard copies. The bid package must also include an original signed, dated, and sealed bid bond for at least 5% of the total bid, capped at $10,000, the City of Huntsville Report of Ownership Form, and the contractor's E-Verify Memorandum of Understanding. The solicitation states that Alabama resident contractors receive a preference under applicable state law.
