Description
The United States Department of the Navy is soliciting one 1/4-inch coupler assembly in accordance with Snap-tite drawing B648-78357, part number B648-2, as modified by the solicitation. The assembly contains nonmetallic materials and must satisfy specified toxicity and flammability requirements. Required manufacturing controls include oxygen cleaning, cut internal threads, thread and sealing-surface inspection, applicable welding or brazing qualifications, pressure testing, nondestructive testing, and production testing to TS-208. This is designated as Special Emphasis material within the Level I and Scope of Certification boundaries for use in a crucial shipboard system. The contractor must maintain ISO 9001-based quality controls or an accepted alternate, preserve material traceability, provide chemical and mechanical material certifications, test certifications, a Special Emphasis Certificate of Compliance, and other required objective quality evidence. The quantity was reduced from four to one, and final delivery is due within 365 days after the effective date of the resulting contract.
