Description
The Department of Health and Human Services, through the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), is seeking applications for the Leading Edge Acceleration Projects (LEAP) in Health Information Technology funding opportunity. This initiative aims to address critical challenges in health IT by supporting innovative projects in two key areas: demonstrating the readiness of FHIR-based Subscriptions capability for improved interactivity with third-party applications, and identifying and testing technical approaches to inform future changes to the TEFCA infrastructure to increase adoption of Individual Access Services (IAS). Additionally, the program seeks to identify and improve the quality of healthcare data used by artificial intelligence (AI) tools and accelerate the adoption of health IT in behavioral health settings. Projects will focus on developing scalable solutions, utilizing open standards, and improving care coordination. The funding opportunity is open to public or non-profit private institutions, state governments, and eligible federal agencies, with for-profit organizations only permitted as sub-recipients or consortium members.
