Description
Georgetown County is soliciting bids for a safety improvement project on Business 17 in Murrells Inlet. The work includes installing high-visibility thermoplastic crosswalks and stop bars, removing existing crosswalks, applying painted lane and edge markings with glass beads, installing 500 white bi-directional raised pavement markers, and providing mobilization and traffic control. The contractor must furnish all required materials, equipment, labor, and incidental work, and comply with applicable South Carolina Department of Transportation specifications and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. The bid form identifies quantities of 340 linear feet of thermoplastic crosswalk lines, 10 existing crosswalk removals, one thermoplastic stop bar, 500 raised pavement markers, one lump-sum traffic-control item, and one lump-sum mobilization item. Work must be completed within 90 days after notice to proceed. A 5% bid bond is required with the bid; the successful bidder must provide 100% performance and payment/material bonds after award. The bid package also requires references for three similar projects, an exceptions page, addenda acknowledgment, and the completed mandatory bid submission form.
