Description
The United Nations Development Programme is seeking an individual consultant under a long-term agreement of up to seven months to assist the Pampa de Lobos artisanal fishing organization with preparing and submitting a Declaration of Interest, a marine benthic resource baseline study, and an extraction plan under Peru’s regulatory framework for marine benthic invertebrate resources. The covered resources are red octopus and red sea urchin, and the service area is approximately 15.56 hectares in the coastal zone of Chaparra, Arequipa. The consultant must provide participatory technical assistance, coordinate with the fishing organization and relevant authorities, support field evaluations and workshops, address regulatory observations, and prepare technical reports and supporting materials. The proposal must include an approach, methodology, work plan, schedule or Gantt chart, and risk mitigation measures. Required qualifications include a degree as a biologist or fisheries engineer with professional registration, at least four years of general experience, and specified experience in marine benthic invertebrate studies, marine coastal baseline evaluations, and subtidal evaluations or supervision of diving work. The submission package includes the signed offer letter, documented CV and résumé summary, methodological proposal, and detailed cost breakdown.
