Description
The United States Navy, through NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Mechanicsburg, is soliciting offers for the manufacture and supply of continuous-thread K-Monel studs. The studs must conform to MIL-DTL-1222, Type IV, Grade 500 (QQ-N-286), be solution annealed and age hardened, and have a 1 1/8-inch size, 6 1/4-inch length, 7 UNC thread series, Class 3A fit, and chamfered ends. The material is designated Level I/SUBSAFE special-emphasis material for use in a crucial shipboard system, requiring strict material traceability, permanent marking, certification, inspection, and testing. Required quality controls include an ISO 9001-compliant quality system, calibration controls, government quality assurance at source, chemical and mechanical certification, liquid-penetrant and applicable ultrasonic testing, axial tensile testing for studs, and certificates of compliance and test certification data. Certification data must be submitted through WAWF for review and acceptance before each shipment. Final delivery is required within 365 days after the effective date of the resulting contract, and the procurement is a total small-business set-aside with a DO-rated national-defense priority order.
