Description
Azusa Unified School District is soliciting bids for construction work to expand and improve the parking lot at Victor Hodge Elementary School. The scope includes removing, repairing, and replacing paving; parking and drop-off improvements; fencing and gates; and landscaping work. The project documents also describe site work, grading, concrete and asphalt paving, pavement markings, storm drainage, and related utility work. Bidders must be prequalified, hold a California Class A or B contractor license at award, and meet applicable public-works registration requirements. The bid must include a bid security of at least 10% of the bid. Separate payment and performance bonds, each for 100% of the contract amount, are required before contract execution. The solicitation is subject to Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise participation requirements, including a 3% participation goal or a documented good-faith effort. The contract specifies 135 calendar days to substantial completion after notice to proceed; supplementary conditions also state that work is to be completed within 100 calendar days, so the duration language is inconsistent.
