Description
The University of Ottawa is procuring a high-spectral-resolution confocal Raman microscope system for quantitative analysis of volatile species and fluid and melt inclusions in geological materials. The required system must support Raman spectroscopy from 100 to 4,000 cm⁻¹, 2D and 3D imaging, approximately 1-micron spatial resolution, spectral dispersion of 0.65 cm⁻¹/pixel, automated mapping and multipoint acquisition, motorized X-Y-Z positioning, reflected- and transmitted-light microscopy, Köhler illumination, spectral calibration, and a 532 nm laser with at least 30 mW nominal output. It must include a motorized grating turret with at least three gratings, a cooled CCD detector, software-controlled laser attenuation, a Neon calibration light source, and automated calibration routines. The system must be compatible with Linkam THMSG600 and TS1400XY heating and cooling stages, include suitable 5X and 50X objectives, operate within specified air-cooling and electrical limits, and provide all necessary hardware, computer equipment, control and analysis software, rigid support frame, and exportable scientific data formats. The supplier must provide installation, commissioning, calibration, on-site training for at least one user, a minimum one-year manufacturer’s warranty, and remote telephone and online technical support. ESA approval or a field evaluation mark is required before formal delivery.
