Description
Efficiency Maine Trust is accepting competitive applications from large demand-metered customers in Maine for new, behind-the-meter, non-export energy storage systems that will be dispatched during ISO-New England summer peak conditions. Eligible systems must be at least 3 MW, support 15-minute interval data, maintain at least 80% round-trip battery efficiency, carry a minimum 10-year manufacturer warranty, and meet applicable safety, testing, permitting, interconnection, licensing, and code requirements. The facility must be located in Maine, have an account with a Maine electric utility, and have peak demand greater than the anticipated ESS demand reduction. Participants must remain active for at least five years and perform at least fifteen three-hour dispatches per summer season. The incentive is $100,000 per MW of average validated reduction per year, capped at $1,000,000 per project annually and $5,000,000 per project over five years; the Trust may commit up to $10,000,000 under this notice. Applications must include a technical and financial proposal, transparent project-specific calculations, system specifications, control and data-transfer plans, electrical diagram, site plan, cost breakdown, permitting and interconnection documentation, facility consumption data, project budget and schedule, financing evidence, management qualifications, risk-management information, and other readiness materials.
