Description
The City of Glendale is soliciting quotations for comprehensive repair of one transformer and its load tap changers at the Rossmoyne Substation. The scope includes replacing stationary and moving contact sets, door gaskets, a pressure relief device, the P/V bleeder, capacitors, breakers, and potentially the motor; cleaning and inspecting the LTC mechanism; checking all LTC functions; and retesting the LTC to establish baseline data. Transformer work includes replacing City-furnished high-voltage bushings, repairing the main-tank oil leak, vacuum oil filling and processing, repainting, connection modifications as needed, and testing the transformer and bushings to document baseline conditions and confirm safe return to service. The contractor must provide all labor, tools, materials, equipment, supplies, and testing; have at least 10 years of power-transformer repair experience; hold the required contractor license; pay prevailing wages; and perform all work with its own workforce, with no subcontracting allowed. A mandatory job walk is required for eligibility to submit a bid. Payment and performance bonds are required when the bid exceeds $25,000, each at 100% of the contract or purchase-order value.
