The City of Jacksonville Medical Examiner's Office is seeking histology laboratory and autopsy supplies for in-house histology work through a single-source procurement from StatLab Medical Products, Inc. Requested items include formalin, xylene, reagent alcohol, specialty stains and stain kits, sandblasted and adhesive slides, cover glass, specimen containers, cassettes, microtome blades and knives, pipettes, laboratory wipers, gauze, filter paper, timers, and related chemicals and consumables. The justification states that StatLab carries a unique line of specialty histology and cytology products, with more than 85% of the unique products used by the Medical Examiner's Office unavailable from the alternate suppliers contacted. The attached quote lists a total of $5,147.55 for the quoted items and states that prices are valid through September 30, 2027; the posting identifies a single-source amount of $24,500.00.
