Description
The Department of Commerce (DOC) is announcing its procurement strategy for a Cloud Vehicle Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA). This 10-year vehicle is estimated to be worth $4.105 billion and is intended to provide native hyperscale cloud services across the Department. Due to highly specialized technical requirements, including significant compute elasticity, proprietary global backbones, and specific hardware density for AI/ML and weather modeling, the Department is pursuing a Direct-to-CSP strategy. Only Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) acting as the Cloud Service Provider (CSP) will be eligible for award. This strategy is being executed via GSA eBuy under the authority of GSAR Subpart 538.71, and participation is restricted to authorized contractors holding a GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) under SIN 518210C. This notice is for informational purposes only to ensure transparency in the Department's long-term cloud acquisition planning, and no action is required from industry at this time.
