Description
Canada Health Infoway's Vendor Innovation Program (VIP) 2026/27 supports vendor-led projects that accelerate healthcare interoperability and address practical digital health challenges, including improved data exchange, workflow efficiency, and patient outcomes. Applicants may submit up to two projects, but each project must be submitted under only one stream: Acceleration or Scalability. The updated Q&A confirms that eligible project-level costs may include active founder work and in-kind vendor contributions, and that new interoperability functionality may qualify for the Acceleration Stream. AI scribe expansion is not eligible under the Scalability Stream. Applications must include the completed Unfair Advantage and Conflict of Interest Statement Schedule, Declaration and Certification Schedule, Eligibility Requirements Schedule, Project Application and Evaluation Criteria Schedule, Project Budget, and resumes of key resources. Supplementary documents are optional. Stream-specific supporting materials may include end-user or partner commitments, quantified evidence of value, and evidence of demand. Funding is expected to range from $100,000 to $500,000, covering up to 75% of eligible project costs with at least a 25% vendor contribution. Projects must be completed by February 28, 2028.
