Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to perform annual and semiannual NFPA 25 inspections and testing of water-based fire suppression systems at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center. The revised scope covers the Main Building, Fisher House, Bed Tower, CLC, Building 11, and eleven trailers, including sprinkler-system flows and tampers, annual fire-pump flow testing, inspections of 10 fire hydrants, and an annual main-drain test. The attached inspection reports and backflow-preventer inventory provide existing system information and identify deficiencies, including failed or damaged waterflow and tamper devices, expired gauges, missing sprinkler-box components, and a defective sprinkler. The contractor must provide written confirmation that personnel are NFPA-certified inspectors and that all personnel working on site hold current OSHA 10-hour safety certifications. Work must be coordinated with VA personnel and generally performed during 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with after-hours work requiring prior authorization. The contract is firm-fixed-price, with a one-year base period and four one-year option periods. The amendment revises the statement of work, price schedule, contract administration data, wage-determination section, and submission deadline.
