Description
The City of Tacoma is soliciting bids for replacement of damaged or unsafe sidewalks at approximately 30 locations in the North End and other listed Tacoma work sites. The work includes removal and disposal of existing sidewalks, pavement and curb removal, excavation and base preparation, concrete sidewalk and curb-and-gutter installation, scored and colored concrete in designated areas, historic stamp preservation, irrigation adjustments, roadside restoration, traffic and pedestrian control, erosion and stormwater pollution controls, and management and disposal of potentially contaminated soil. The project must be physically completed within 50 working days. Bidders must submit the completed bid proposal and signature page, a bid bond or qualifying cashier's check, wage-payment compliance certification, state responsibility and reciprocal bid preference information, the Equity in Contracting Utilization Form, and the recycled materials proposal. The project includes mandatory Equity in Contracting participation requirements of 18.2% MBE, 5.7% WBE, and 10.5% SBE, as well as a 15% local employee labor-hour requirement under the City's LEAP program. Payment and performance bonds, insurance, and other contract-execution documents are required after award rather than with the bid.
